In The Herb Garden

I've been tucking in a few culinary herbs amongst the pile of stumps at the back of the vegetable plot.  It's overgrown with ferns and nettles and while crouching down to clear a spot for sweet Cicely, bronze fennel and hyssop, I noticed some of these dew bejewelled beauties.

Sweet April Birthday

 My little one is five!  Our ensemble of choice for a birthday celebration at home is a stunning light pink pajama top with cats, comfortable yet classy brown cords, and to complete the outfit and add softness, a rich red tutu.

 The Wearing Of The Bows is a Browning tradition.

Holy Week

We started off holy week with baptisms on Palm Sunday.

And Finn's first food ~ some tasty rice cereal.  Very tasty, as you can see by the reaction.  Perhaps we should have gone with Grandpa's intriguing suggestion: an organic lima bean.

We attended our first Maundy Thursday service this year.  So powerful!  Looking forward to making that a tradition.

And finally, a glorious Resurrection Day with Easter baskets to celebrate.

Story Time

Finn's Fish

I found this fun undersea mobile to crochet at Lion Brand and thought it would do just swimmingly in Finn's room.  She finds the lazily floating fish to be very soothing.

Got Milk?

We do!  The prospect of having milk delivered from a semi-local dairy has been considered for a long time now.  When the vendor offered our girls chocolate milk samples at the Flower and Garden Show this year, we figured we might as well try it.

 What were we waiting for!?  Is there anything more exciting than finding tasty dairy products on your own front porch?

Now it's just like Christmas every Monday morning.

And, get this, the milkman drives a "Holstein" painted truck. Too fun!

Under the Big Top

Part circus, part wild west show, part renaissance faire ~ we got to see Cavalia last weekend!  What an amazing experience!

The smell of the stables, the thundering of hooves, the graceful acrobatics.  We all really want a horse now.

We even got to meet some of the talented performers and take home some autographs!

Raegan's dream is now to be a beautiful equestrienne and trapeze artist.

Morgan's dream is to be a horse.  =)

Winter Walk

Snowflake Lane

We enjoyed quite a show of snow princesses, reindeer, toy soldiers and (very loud!) drummers along the street in Bellevue the other night. The best part was when it started to "snow" from the rooftops. Funny ~ it looked so much like soap suds.

Not A Creature Was Stirring

Well, maybe this mouse. She was thrilled to be able to dance in the Nutcracker performance this year! We've been getting our own private "mouse dance" every day for weeks now as practice.

Please admire the charming tail she's showing off. And the two missing front teeth ~ how ironic for a mouse.

Seven Is Heaven!

Especially when you get a new Big Girl's Bike for your birthday!

And it's pink. Which is absolutely the most beautiful color in the whole world!

Those are chocolate covered peanut butter malt balls on the cake. Oh, yeah.
