Our Guardian

Michele is gone to the store right now, so Dad is going to make a quick post. Today was a sad day for us as we lost our buddy and watchdog Leroy. He was suffering from heart disease and took a bad turn overnight. I had to make the tough call to let him feel good one more time. We got to hold him as he went to sleep, and I know as the medicine took effect he felt good for just a minute. I am so thankful to have had him to watch my family in a rough neighborhood for the last 5 years while I went to work each day, maybe the only thing that saved my sanity in the months before we moved. Our girls dont really understand and still think he's getting fixed up. I know my wife takes great joy from her blogging friends so if you have a minute, please send a note. I'm sure she'll do a full post about him when she has time.

  6. Dear Michele and Family,

I'm so sorry about Leroy! That is the hardest decision to make, but I'm sure he did feel good at the last. And now he's in the Happy Hunting Grounds, with all the other good dogs.

I pray you will find peace through your grief.

    Love,

    Marqueta

  7. Thanks so much for the information, Dear Mr. B-Skep. I am a real animal-lover and have four cats, one of whom has recently been ill who we thought was going to have leave us too. It is so hard to lose a good animal friend - a part of the family. My thoughts are with you.
If it's any consolation, I truly believe that we will be reunited in heaven not just with our loved ones, but with all we have loved and that includes our pets.
Love to your wife and darling daughters.
